Petition of appeal, 1753 June 6, presented to the King [George II] in council to reverse the decree of the Virginia General Court (sitting as a Court in Chancery) in the lawsuit of Walter King v. Charles Lewis and Lewis Burwell concerning ownership of a tract of land ["The Fork"] in Albemarle County, Va. Includes answers, depositions, and powers of attorney concerning George Braxton (1678?-1748), George Braxton (d. 1761), Richard Corbin, Dudley Digges, Benjamin Edwards, Micajah Perry, Philip Perry, and "Buckingham," Albemarle County, Va. Also, includes a petition of Carter Braxton.
